HOW DOES IT
WORK?
Bluetooth is a
point-to-point transmission system using the International
standard Bluetooth networking platform. The Bluetooth MediaServer
uses a Class 1 Bluetooth device that gives a range of 100
metres in "free space"
When a consumer enters the proximity of a media server with their
Bluetooth device, the system goes through the following procedure:
The MediaServer detects the Bluetooth enabled device and captures
the unique ID (MAC Address) this is then logged into the systems
database along with the user name of the device.
The consumer is asked if they would like to receive the file,
depending on whether they press yes or no the media is uploaded
to the consumers bluetooth device,
The system
then checks
the database to see if any
transmission
history has been conducted in the past (This is to eliminated the
same content being deliver to the same device)
Depending on the outcome the BlueServer will then deliver the
relevant piece of content based on a set of pre-programmed
instructions. The consumer then has to accept the content from the
server for the data to transfer.
MANAGEABILITY
The MediaServer is managed locally with the easy to use
Windows graphical user software.
Copy is transferred
onto a USB drive and inserted into the Mediaserver. Transfer of
content is automatic and the statistics of the previous campaign
up loaded. These statistics are then displayed using the same
software package.
Speed
The data transfer rate depends on the type of handset the
consumer has, but In general we try to keep the transfer rates to
70kb to 115kb per second. In real terms this is approximately less
than a second to six seconds for 50 to 700 kb file sizes
Safety
The MediaServer operates at the 2.45GHz frequency, which falls
within the Industrial, Medical and Scientific OMS) radio transfer
band. This is an
existing
frequency
range that
has been
certified globally for safe, interference free operation.
